We are excited to now offer Semaglutide for weight loss! Semaglutide is an FDA approved prescription medication that has been shown to result in up to 15% weight loss (or more in some individuals). The weight loss effect occurs as a result of appetite regulation, and increased feelings of fullness; additionally this medication helps with optimized insulin release in response to carbohydrate intake. Semaglutide is taken as a once-weekly injection under the skin. Initiating this medication in addition to lifestyle changes including a healthy diet and exercise can help to improve the results of this medication.
Baseline labs may be obtained from your PCP if drawn within the last 90 days (as long as all necessary labs were drawn), or alternatively new fasting labs can be ordered by a provider within our practice. The results must be available for review by a provider prior to scheduling a consultation for Semaglutide.
